HII Demonstration Project: Hydrogen Separation from Waste-to-Energy Systems

HII Demonstration Project: Hydrogen Separation from Waste-to-Energy Systems

With support from the Hydrogen Innovation Initiative (HII), Compact Syngas Solutions (CSS) is demonstrating cutting-edge hydrogen separation technology designed to unlock cleaner, more flexible energy from waste and biomass feedstocks.

As part of this project, CSS is integrating advanced hydrogen separation into its modular gasification systems — enabling the efficient production of clean hydrogen from a wide range of waste materials. The demonstration will validate CSS’s ability to deliver a low-carbon, circular approach to hydrogen generation, turning local waste challenges into local energy solutions.

Why it Matters

→ Diversifies hydrogen supply beyond conventional sources
→ Reduces emissions from waste management
→ Supports decentralised, scalable hydrogen production
→ Helps accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy

This project will provide critical real-world data to optimise system performance, prove commercial readiness, and support future deployment across industry and local energy networks.

As the demand for low-carbon hydrogen grows, innovations like this are essential to delivering clean, affordable solutions that work for a changing world.
